Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl
The Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl is pleased to make two formal announcements following a meeting with the South Carolina Athletics Coaches Association and the South Carolina Football Coaches Association.
The groups approved the North and South coaches for the 2021 game, as well as made two changes to the inaugural Joanne Langfitt Junior Showcase.
Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl will be played on December 11th, 2021.
After the cancellation of last year’s game, the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association and Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl elected to carry over most of the two staffs for this year’s event.
That includes North Head Coach Wayne Farmer of Calhoun County and South Head Coach Art Craig of Hananan.
“We’re excited to be able to announce the staff and to be able to play the game,” Bowl director Scott Early said. “Most of these coaches were previously honored for the 2020 game. This game is for the coaches, players, chain crews, officials and fans. Being able to bring them back as we re-launch the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl in 2021 was a priority.”
The complete staff listing is as follows:
NORTH HEAD COACH:
Wayne Farmer, Calhoun County
Michael Allen, Nation Ford
Bradley Adams, Woodruff
Kyle Stewart, Powdersville
Will Mitchell, Lewisville
David Pierce, Northwestern
Bill Bacon, Lugoff-Elgin
SOUTH HEAD COACH:
Art Craig, Hanahan
Russell Zehr, Berkeley
Rodney Summers, May River
Will Lampkin, Berkeley
Jim Shuman, Allendale-Fairfax
Bill Seawright, Chapin
Steven Parsley, Conway
Covid-19 Protocol Statement
In an effort to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 amongst our staff and athletes, the following measures will be taken:
1. All staff and athletes will receive a COVID-19 test upon arrival for check-in. If an individual tests positive, they will be sent home and unable to participate in any team activities.
2. If an individual develops symptoms throughout the week, they will receive a COVID-19 test. If the test is positive, they will be placed in isolation and sent home immediately. They will be unable to participate in any further team activities. It will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian to coordinate pick up from Myrtle Beach.
3. All staff and athletes will be required to wear a mask while traveling on the bus to/from practice and meals.
4. If an individual is identified as a close contact to someone who tests positive (within 6 feet for a cumulative 15 min or more) they will be sent home UNLESS
They have been fully vaccinated and it has been at least 14 days since they completed the vaccine series AND they have not developed any symptoms
OR they have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days and have not developed any new symptoms
If this happens, it will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian to coordinate pick up from Myrtle Beach and coordinate follow up care with their medical provider
**Although vaccination for COVID-19 is not required to participate, we do highly recommend it and ask that any individual who is vaccinated have a copy of their vaccination card to provide in the event they are identified as a close contact to an individual who has tested positive.**
